Canstruction Victoria is an annual event that brings together design and construction professionals along with community members to create amazing, free standing structures out of canned food. It is a part of an international competition that takes part in over 165 cities worldwide. For more information, visit:
Each team is required to have an architect, engineer, landscape architect, graphic designer, or other designated design professional. The rest of each team is made up of people like you, from the local community, who want to support the fight against hunger.
All the food used in the sculptures, is donated to the Mustard Seed Victoria food bank. All monetary donations collected from teams and from the viewing public are donated to the Mustard Seed as well.
Canstruction® Victoria is proudly presented by The Dahlia Society.
You sure can – the People’s Choice Award may be the most coveted of all prize categories for our sculpture builders! Visit our info table at center court of Hillside Centre to pick up a voting form. Each vote costs either $2 or 2 non-perishable food items. The money is donated directly to The Mustard Seed. You can vote as many times as you like! All voters will be entered into a draw for a Hillside Centre gift card.
Yes! The Mustard Seed has greater buying power than the general public, so monetary donations are very important. Please see the information desk at center court to make a donation. Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $25.
The sculptures will be built starting Friday, June 2nd in the evening, and can-struction will continue all day Saturday, June 3rd. Completed sculptures will be available to view until June 12th. De-can-struction will occur in the evening on June 12th.
