Canstruction Victoria 2019

May 3rd to May 13th at Hillside Shopping Centre

The sixth annual Canstruction Victoria event was held from May 3rd to the 13th at Hillside Shopping Centre. Large structures made completely from non-perishable food items create the single largest annual non-perishable donation The Mustard Seed sees. This year’s theme of ‘Under The Sea,’ resulted with 9 teams competing and took visitors on a deep sea dive with creative portrayals of what exists below the surface! The Canstructions ranged from 1,000 to 5,500 cans and cost between $1,100 and $8,300 to build. The 2019 event raised 29,402 cans equating to over 34,500 lbs. of food! With cash donations of over $3000 the event raised a total value of $92,938 between cash and can donations. This event would not be possible without the support of our local community, participating teams, sponsors & volunteers who dedicate hours toward this amazing cause. To date, Canstruction Victoria events have raised over 200,000 cans of food, which, in addition to monetary donations, equals approximately $664,213 worth of product and funds to local hunger relief. These accomplishments have been achieved in just 60 short days over 6 years. The Dahlia team is forever grateful of the support received thus far and are looking forward to another massive event come 2020!
